At NYC Health + Hospitals, we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services to our patients. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and assessment of patients through the use of ultrasound technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and adjust imaging parameters to produce optimal diagnostic imaging quality.
  • Perform advanced ultrasound procedures on patients, deviating from standard protocols when necessary.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare personnel by providing information regarding the nature, scheduling, or results of procedures performed within the Ultrasound Department.
  • Develop and implement new tests by performing comparison studies and clinical trials.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure a continuous flow of work.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures, instructing other technical personnel on their routine use.
  • Conduct training programs in ultrasonography and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Effectively use electronic medical records to document patient encounters and access pertinent patient data and imaging results.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance/performance improvement activities, and training as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid certification in Sonography issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • One year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
