Job Summary

The Medical Care Specialist provides high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment at St. Elizabeth Healthcare's Med Surg unit.

About the Role
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes, ensuring effective communication and respect for cultural diversity.
  • Maintain current skills and knowledge in clinical areas, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Document patient care using Epic, Patient Data Base, and other relevant systems, adhering to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, serving as a patient advocate and making informed decisions in routine and emergency situations.
Patient Safety and Quality
  • Ensure safe administration of medications, monitoring responses and reporting untoward reactions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction, contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • Meet contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Demonstrate expertise in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration and competent performance of safe nursing skills.
What We Offer

A competitive estimated salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience, benefits, and growth opportunities within St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
