We are seeking an experienced Regional Supplier Development Engineer to join our team at TES Recruiting Solutions.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process improvement and technology enhancement. As a Regional Supplier Development Engineer, you will collaborate closely with regional supplier quality assurance teams to drive quality and productivity improvements across the supply base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sourcing and global supplier quality assurance teams to identify suppliers requiring development.
  • Analyze supplier health, risk, and delivery metrics, factoring in cost, productivity, safety, and environmental compliance to determine improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and support manufacturing process improvements, inspection techniques, mistake-proofing, and quality management systems.
  • Use effort-impact-cost matrices to prioritize development opportunities, optimizing investment and resource application.
  • Work with suppliers and engineering teams to conceptualize, test, and implement technological advancements.
  • Engage in product development and supplier qualification processes to evaluate suppliers' technological capabilities.
  • Research industry best practices and emerging technology trends, attending relevant trade shows as needed.
  • Participate in the supplier corrective action process to ensure effective technology-driven solutions.
  • Establish and monitor key process indicators to gauge the success of development initiatives, focusing on quality, cost, throughput, safety, and compliance.
  • Support suppliers during the introduction and qualification of new components, ensuring alignment with tolerances, specifications, and process expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or another engineering discipline with relevant experience).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a proven record in technology enhancement.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing engineering principles and techniques.
  • Skilled in 3D modeling and 2D drafting (SolidWorks or similar software).
  • Experience with vision technology, fixture design, and mistake-proofing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with casting and machining processes is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, often on short notice.

Compensation:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
