About the Role

The People Experience and Technology (PXT) Central Science Team is seeking a Senior Principal Applied Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing predictive modeling and forecasting work-streams that drive business success at Amazon.

You will work closely with our PXT leaders to identify opportunities for science investment and build consensus around needed investments. You will also serve as a strategic science advisor to our leaders, providing guidance on complex science modeling and implementation problems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement predictive modeling and forecasting work-streams that drive business success at Amazon
  • Work closely with PXT leaders to identify opportunities for science investment and build consensus around needed investments
  • Serve as a strategic science advisor to PXT leaders, providing guidance on complex science modeling and implementation problems
  • Stay current with emergent AI/ML science and engineering trends and influence our focus areas in a rapidly evolving landscape
Requirements
  • 15+ years of industrial/academic experience in predictive modeling, forecasting, deep learning or related fields
  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Familiar with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Perl, Python or Matlab
Preferred Qualifications
  • A track record of influencing software shipped at scale using your science expertise
  • Experience working with real-world complex data sets and building models at Amazon scale
