About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Metrology Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, MO.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfill all metrology application needs as they pertain to the utilization of PolyWorks software in conjunction with various metrology systems.
  • Learn PolyWorks software for dimensional inspection and 3D scanning using laser and structured light (camera) based technologies.
  • Scan and analyze parts and generate inspection reports for various customers.
  • Conduct in-person and web-based demonstrations for customers.
  • Perform online, classroom and onsite training.
  • Handle customer support calls and emails.
  • Provide feedback to our software development team for product improvements.
  • Write macro scripts to automate repeated operations.
  • Design simple parts from time-to-time.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience in the field.
  • Mechanical CAD experience (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Comfortable with light power tools.
  • Can lift up to 100 lbs. without assistance.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the time to various locations in the USA. There could be some international travel.
  • Relocate to the Irvine area if necessary.
  • Must be willing to work in the office (not a remote worker or long-distance commuter).
  • Must be a Permanent resident or US citizen.

  • Proficient in mechanical engineering blueprint interpretations.
  • Effective communications and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Work effectively within a collaborative team comprised of employees.
  • React quickly to changing engineering challenges and mission requirements.
  • Willing and able to follow directions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows.

Desired Skills
  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of 3D scanning hardware (Faro, Romer, Leica, Creaform, GOM).
  • Knowledge 3D scanning software (PolyWorks, Geomagic, GOM Inspect).
  • Good at collaborating with team members.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail while completing all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical material quickly.
