Solid Waste Loader

Job Summary:
The City of Lawrence Municipal Services & Operations Department is a full-service, front-line operational department providing community services in infrastructure and maintenance, engineering, and services. This position is responsible for the collection, recycling, and disposal of commercial and residential solid waste (trash, recycling, and yard waste).

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine manual heavy labor tasks in the collection, recycling, and disposal of commercial and residential solid waste (trash, recycling, and yard waste)
Operate equipment to collect and transport waste
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Provide excellent customer service to the community

Requirements:
Ability to work holiday shifts and Saturday shifts as scheduled
Experience in physically demanding labor in the outdoor environment
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds constantly throughout the workday
Ability to withstand exposure to extreme and variable weather conditions
Possession of a valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License
