Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Master CNC Machinist Fabricator to join our team at Astec Industries. As a key member of our machine shop, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure safe work practices are followed and adhered to at all times

* Plan and execute work tasks based on production schedules or shop request lists

* Study blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements

* Measure, number, and identify dimensions on material for fabrication or other work cells as necessary

* Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as required

* Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut

* Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as needed

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred

* Minimum two years' experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills or Machinist Technical Certification through an accredited college

* Ability to use overhead crane and forklift to move and roll over large heavy parts

* Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
