About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Cost Engineer to join our team, focusing on custom modules. This role involves building detailed cost models, benchmarking component costs, and supporting supplier negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive should-cost models for new and existing products, covering electro-mechanical components such as PCBAs and mechanical server chassis.
  • Drive excellence in should-cost modeling execution and establish scalable processes for similar products.
  • Provide training and coaching to junior cost engineers on should-cost modeling techniques.
  • Own the Should-Cost Strategy, working closely with stakeholders to identify value capture opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement cost-effective solutions and improve product profitability.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in product development related functions, preferably in manufacturing, development, innovation, research, or design.
  • Familiarity with fundamental manufacturing processes and their cost impacts, particularly in mechanical and PCB/PCBA areas.
  • Strong knowledge of cost modeling methods and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to deploy should-cost modeling effectively.
  • Broad business knowledge to manage interactions between business disciplines.
  • Experience in cost engineering, supplier auditing, supply chain management, or change management is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year to $220,200/year, depending on location. Amazon offers a total compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to medical, financial, and other benefits.
