Litigation Director Leader

About the Job:
Job SummaryThis role oversees the management of and assesses litigation pending against Securitas USA on a national basis, providing input to outside counsel in handling cases, overseeing financial expenditures, and ensuring appropriate reserving and communication with insurers and management.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and oversee outside counsel handling litigation, including arbitrations/mediations/court hearings/trials as necessary;
- Handle EP suits and claims, as well as GL suits and some claims, including higher exposure matters;
- Complete legal research projects as needed, and assist with drafting and implementation of policies;
- Assist with review of training and advertising materials, and be primary contact for Risk Management Department for indemnity claims and tenders from other parties;
- Manage subpoena function on a daily basis, including retention of outside counsel, and manage summer legal intern program;
- Prepare Monthly Function Report, Monthly High Exposure Report, Quarterly Large Lawsuit Review, Quarterly Dispute Reports, Quarterly Group Risk Management High Exposure Slides, Quarterly reserve increase requests, and Quarterly Business Review Slides;
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school;
- Admitted to the CA bar;
- Minimum of ten years of practice, preferably initially with a prominent national law firm before moving to an in-house position;
- First chair trial experience is preferred;
- Experience working on matters of employment law and general liability law required;
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Westlaw, etc., are essential;
