Property Disposal Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Disposal Specialist to join our team at the Defense Logistics Agency. As a Property Disposal Specialist, you will play a critical role in the disposal and reutilization of excess and surplus government property.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance to DOD, Federal Agencies, and authorized donor customers in screening and selecting property for reutilization.
- Perform a variety of property disposal, control, and advisory activities, including advising on the destruction, demilitarization, or abandonment of property.
- Ensure that contractors complete all work on task orders and notify the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) if performance is not proceeding satisfactorily or if problems are anticipated.
- Responsible for accountable records, adjustments, inventory corrections, and monitoring the record status of inventory.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or personal injury.
- One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
- Administers the reutilization program, monitors contractor performance, and assists customers with reutilization decisions.
- Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
The work is mostly sedentary, but may require some automobile driving, walking, standing, bending, or carrying lightweight items. The incumbent may be required to deploy via temporary reassignment or be required to stay in place to support contingency operations.
