    • Explain MRI procedures to patients, addressing questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
    • Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information.
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety, checking for implanted devices, allergies to contrast agents, or pregnancy.
    • Prepare and position the MRI room for procedures.
  • Conducting MRI Scans
    • Operate MRI machines, adjusting settings (e.g., magnetic field, radiofrequency pulse) to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by physicians.
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment for clear images while adhering to safety standards.
    • Administer contrast agents as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
    • Ensure patient stillness during scans to obtain clear, high-resolution images.
    • Monitor MRI processes to confirm quality imaging, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort
    • Ensure patient safety during MRI procedures, particularly concerning strong magnetic fields, verifying no ferrous or metal objects are present.
    • Inform patients during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed to ensure comfort.
    • Monitor patient condition, including vital signs, during scans to detect potential issues or discomfort.
    • Properly position patients to avoid injuries or discomfort during imaging.
  • Post-Procedure Care
    • Assist patients off the MRI table after procedures and ensure stability and comfort.
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments, care for injection sites, and other aftercare instructions.
    • Schedule required post-scan imaging or additional scans as necessary.
    • Address immediate concerns or side effects experienced by patients, especially if contrast agents were administered.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care
    • Evaluate MRI machine functionality and perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting when necessary.
    • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols.
    • Monitor equipment performance, identifying malfunctions or issues, and alerting the appropriate staff for repairs or servicing.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure correct images are obtained and patient needs are met.
    • Work with healthcare professionals to review images, assess follow-up scan requirements, and discuss patient conditions.
    • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure final images meet diagnostic standards and are transmitted accurately to physicians for review.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping
    • Document relevant patient information and scan results in electronic health records, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
    • Ensure imaging data is properly labeled and uploaded into systems, assisting with reports or communications as needed.
    • Maintain logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and issues encountered during procedures.
  • Radiation Safety and Protocols
    • Follow guidelines for handling contrast agents and equipment that could pose risks to patients, despite MRI not using ionizing radiation.
    • Adhere to radiation safety standards for other imaging technologies used in departments.
    • Comply with established safety protocols, including magnetic field safety, to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Professional Development and Training
    • Stay current with latest MRI technology, scanning techniques, and patient care practices.
