We are seeking a skilled and organized Construction Project Coordinator to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in commercial construction to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Overview

Our client is a leading General Contractor specializing in interior renovations and ground up construction projects in the commercial and residential construction market. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to quality, they have been transforming spaces and exceeding client expectations for over 20 years.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager in all phases of project management, from inception to completion. This includes coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met, monitoring project progress and reporting on status to senior management, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, means, and methods, as well as proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project). Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met
  • Monitor project progress and report on status to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Review and process change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality control
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, means, and methods
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
