Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Nurse Specialist to join our clinical trials team at the University of Oklahoma. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in patient care and outcomes.

About the Role

This role will involve working under minimal supervision, collaborating with department investigators, and developing clinical and nursing infrastructure to facilitate and enhance clinical trials. You will be responsible for overseeing research nurse direct care of patients on clinical trial, developing nursing interventions to optimize patient's health while on study, and consulting with research team in clinical research problem solving.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee research nurse direct care of patients on clinical trial
  • Develop nursing interventions to optimize patient's health while on study
  • Consult with research team in clinical research problem solving
  • Provide clinical nursing expertise in assessing protocol feasibility in a multidisciplinary clinical setting
  • Consult with investigators in developing action plans in event of protocol non-compliance
  • Serve as a change agent in implementing clinical research for specific disease sites
  • Liaison between research and clinic staff to implement research in the hospital, clinic, and outpatient chemotherapy areas
  • Collaborate with clinic and research staff to implement clinical research procedures in compliance with GCP & ICH guidelines
  • Provide supervision to research staff in interpretation, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement in research
  • This includes consultation in clinical trial development for investigator-initiated studies
  • Collaborate with Clinical Trials leadership to develop and implement clinical research Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Conduct in-service training to educate research nursing staff and clinical nursing staff on the pharmacologic profile and nursing implications of investigative agents
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, and 48 months professional (RN) experience in a research capacity. Alternatively, we will accept an Associate's Degree in Nursing and 24 months professional (RN) experience.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive excellent benefits, including State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse Licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
