The role of the professional registered nurse at WVU Medicine is to provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient hospital setting.
As a registered professional nurse on our team, you will have the authority and responsibility for delivering nursing care through the use of the nursing process.
You will be accountable for applying competent clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
This includes demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant care to patients under your supervision.
Additionally, you must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
Your role provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting, including modifying patient plans of care based on data collection and individual needs.
You will also utilize Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to provide patient care and delegate tasks according to the scope of practice.
Effective communication among interprofessional team members and healthcare consumers is essential, as well as promoting safe patient care by influencing policy.
A strong understanding of importance of data collection and utilization is required, along with disseminating educational findings and experiences with peers.
Engaging in opportunities for work/life balance and adhering to the moral and legal rights of patients are also crucial aspects of this role.
Physical demands of the job include minimizing manual lifting of patients and utilizing lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient's profile.
Visual acuity and hearing within normal range are required, as well as working protracted or irregular hours, around biohazards, infectious diseases, and deceased individuals.
The ideal candidate will possess interpersonal skills to positively communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict, while using competent clinical practice and critical thinking skills to efficiently deliver patient care.
An estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
