Nurse Practitioner

As an Occupational Health Nurse with Premise Health, you will provide nursing care to client employees and/or contractors and visitors to the health center. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting a nursing assessment by taking a patient history and physical assessment, and obtaining vital signs and other medical tests.
- Providing treatment within the scope of practice as defined by state law.
- Collaborating with a Physician or other Licensed Independent Practitioner to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
- Identifying equipment that needs repair and bringing it to the attention of the lead clinician.
- Performing occupational and health screening tests as defined in site contract.
- Conducting appropriate laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
- Documenting accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow-up care arranged.
- Evaluating health education/promotion needs of patients and providing necessary training and instruction.
- Identifying emergency situations and providing care within legal scope of practice.
- Administering medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner.
- Maintaining medical records using electronic medical record software.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment, following infection control procedures.
- Maintaining patient privacy and confidential patient information.
- Participating in follow-up phone calls and follow-up patient visits.

About the Role:
This is a PRN position, working less than 20 hours per week. As a Registered Nurse with Premise Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to our clients and their employees.
Requirements:
- Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred.
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required.
- Current hands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management preferred.
- At least three years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic.
