Responsibilities

  • Implement intervention protocols established by the school district to assist individuals in achieving their goals. Collect behavior and function data to inform treatment plans.
  • Ensure safety, support, and appropriate training for individuals, while fostering independent functioning.
  • Use evidence-based methods and tools in teaching and training activities, including transitioning to new environments or from program supports.
  • Teach independent functioning and pro-social behavior by modeling appropriate social and professional behavior. Encourage positive communication with others.
  • Observe and assist with activities of daily living, including eating, toileting, and daily hygiene.
  • Serve as a Mandated Reporter of Suspicion of neglect or abuse. Notify the appropriate State Protective Service as needed.
  • Implement community integration activities under the direction of the IEP Case Manager and BMAC Case Coordinator to assist individuals with various needs during activities. Assist individuals in learning safe community behavior and community skills.
  • Maintain timely communication with the teaching team, IEP Case Manager, and BMAC Case Coordinator. Participate in the team process; provide input and effective intervention strategies. Attend team and educational meetings.
  • Observe, document, and report changes in the condition of individuals to the teacher and other education or service team members, as appropriate.
  • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct in relation to confidential information. Comply with Company's HIPAA and school's FERPA policies.
  • Maintain and submit documentation in the format and timelines required by the Company, school district, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Attend, participate in internal staff development programs. Maintain and enhance behavior training skills.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus a minimum of six months prior work/volunteer experience providing individual instructions, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrate effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Has reliable transportation and is able to travel to/from multiple assignments/locations on a daily basis.
