Job Summary

As a Clinical Care Assistant in our Dermatology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients. You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and attention.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vital signs, height, and weight as directed.
  • Collect patient specimens and prepare them for transport to labs.
  • Prepare patients for exams, tests, and special procedures, and assist with exams and treatments as needed.
  • Identify, document, and report changes to RN and/or MD.
  • Assist with indirect patient care and perform patient treatments as directed.
  • Stock supplies and linens as applicable, and maintain all designated work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to promote the delivery of patient care and the overall functioning of the department.
  • Participate in department meetings and perform duties in an independent and assertive manner under the direction of an RN and/or MD.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Understanding of human anatomy sufficient to perform job duties.
  • Basic knowledge of math.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required within new hire period.

Work Experience
Minimum two years recent patient care experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting preferred. Proficient in the use of an electronic medical record preferred.
