The Hamden Early Learning Program seeks a qualified Early Childhood/ Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teaching team, education coordinator, and Director to create a safe and nurturing environment for children. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement a high-quality educational program for 3 and 4 year-old children
* Conduct assessments of child progress and facilitate parent conferences
* Co-create weekly lesson plans using the SDE Learning Plan
* Maintain open and clear communication with all staff, administrators, and parents
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Study, or Human Growth and Development
* Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate early childhood practices
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse population
* Familiarity with NAEYC Standards and School Readiness program requirements
