Commercial Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Director to join our Capital Delivery Infrastructure team at Amtrak. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our major capital improvement programs, including the Hudson River Tunnel Program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets consistent with operational and stakeholder needs.
- Manage and monitor project cost and schedules, report progress, and maintain, adjust, and update project plans as needed.
- Ensure project progress by measuring the variance in scope, schedule, cost, and quality from the respective baselines and take necessary action to address deviations.
- Identify, document, and lead the evaluation of changes based on cost, schedule, risk, and scope impacts.
- Work with senior leaders to contribute relevant data to support annual planning activities.
- Provide financial project performance and forecasting reports to senior executives.
- Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project activities and work across the organization to establish and monitor mitigation plans.
- Establish collaborative partnerships among stakeholders to enable scoping, financial, and resource decisions.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mastery level program management practitioner with strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
- Mastery knowledge of competitive procurement processes and regulations.
- Highly motivated and self-directed.
- Mastery with independent judgment and make solid business decisions within scope of the program.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Graduate degree.
- Public/private partnership or joint venture experience.
- Infrastructure construction program management.
- Experience managing programs in the transportation industry environment.
- PMP Certification in good standing.
This role will be based in an office building environment, with occasional travel as needed.
