Job Title: CDL-A OTR Flatbed Driver

Bellavance Trucking is seeking a skilled CDL-A Flatbed Driver to join our team in the Albany, NY area.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight using a flatbed truck over long distances. This position requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) and extensive experience in flatbed trucking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Operation: Operate a flatbed truck in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring safety for oneself and other road users.
  • Load Securement: Safely and securely load and unload cargo onto the flatbed truck using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Route Planning: Plan and execute efficient routes for the timely delivery of goods.
  • Cargo Handling: Handle various types of cargo, including oversized, bulky, and irregularly shaped items.
  • Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the flatbed truck and trailer to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation, including driver logs, mileage records, and delivery receipts.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, shippers, and receivers during pick-up and delivery operations.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with dispatchers, fleet managers, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status and delays.

Requirements:
  • Valid CDL Class A and Med Card.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience driving and six months of hauling flatbed.
  • Worked for two or fewer companies in the past year.
  • There have been less than two moving violations in the last two years.
  • Minimum of 5 nights out per week.
