Job Responsibilities
  • Perform technical reviews of corporate tax compliance engagement work papers and deliverables, including federal, state, and local tax returns, quarterly estimates, vouchers, extensions, and projections.
  • Prepare and review global income tax provisions.
  • Provide consultation on business and personal transactions, including tax implications, consequences, and treatment.
  • Collaborate with technical matter specialists as needed.
  • Review responses to and communicate with IRS and other regulatory and tax authorities' audits, notices, and inquiries.
  • Manage larger and complex engagements, workflow of multiple clients, and related deliverables to minimize risk and surprises, maximize engagement economics, and meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Mentor and technically train less experienced individuals responsible for engagement management responsibilities, including managing budgets, scheduling, staffing, due dates, and client relations.
  • Identify assignment resource requirements and ensure the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific assignment roles.
  • Review or conduct high-level research of complex or emerging tax issues and prepare memorandums to support conclusions.
  • Continually build on technical expertise in taxation by attending continuing professional education courses or utilizing other training resources.
  • Keep current with tax law changes and provide updates and training to the firm's tax practice members.
  • Pursue new business development, extended tax services, and cross-selling for existing clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent credential.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in public accounting in taxation or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in taxation.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. The compensation range for this position is $139,650-$208,950. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Armanino has a robust offering of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, generous PTO plan, paid sick time, flexible work arrangements, 401K with profit sharing, wellness program, generous parental leave, and 11 paid holidays.
