Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to lead our construction projects in the Springfield and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground up construction, with experience in managing construction sites and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead field construction activities and personnel to ensure assigned projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Work with project managers and owner's representatives to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and local jurisdiction codes.
  • Communicate site conflicts, schedule, and quality issues effectively to the project manager.
  • Support project managers in the negotiation of claims and change orders.
  • Actively and continually monitor project equipment needs, utilization, and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of trailer and job site and ensure tools, material, equipment, project site, and trailers are secured at the end of each working day.
  • Maintain open communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required labor, materials, equipment, and inspections support project activities and project schedule.
  • Ensure that project safety protocols are implemented and followed by Zernco and subcontractor personnel; ensure personal protective equipment is properly used.
  • Submit accurate daily job reports to the office reporting job progress, subcontractors on site, safety concerns, employee time, per diem, training, as well as purchases made with purchase order number.
  • Perform project close-out and ensure punch list is completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in post-project review and at that meeting produce red line drawings and submit warranties gathered on site.
  • Mentor Project Engineers, Foremen, and Carpenters assigned to the project.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial ground up construction.
  • Strong knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in construction; building codes and requirements.
  • Ability to manually dig, drag, pull, and push various materials and objects on the jobsite.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide with the commitment of getting home twice per month, or as often as the schedule allows for.
