Job Summary

Phoenix House is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist to provide operational support to facilitate the delivery of optimal clinical services to patients. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Program Director/Recovery Support Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule and track attendance as required.
  • Monitor participation in program events and activities.
  • Conduct and document room/bed checks to ensure resident safety and presence.
  • Conduct routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security.
  • Review client property/items upon admission or receipt to ensure compliance with facility and program rules.
  • Conduct contraband searches and drug screen analysis administration in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assume lead duties for shift(s) as assigned, ensuring the program schedule is followed and all duties are assigned and completed by the team during the shift.
  • Mentor patients towards success in the program, including behavior modification, program rules, schoolwork, job responsibilities, and social interactions.
  • Provide safe, timely, and supervised transportation of patients to off-site appointments or activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in staff logs, incident reports, facility forms, and/or other reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with filing and data-entry.
  • Participate and facilitate the occurrence of shift change, ensuring all occurrences/incidents are documented appropriately, facility and cabinets are secure, supplies are stocked for the next shift, and all keys and other property are accounted.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as needed, providing essential information to counseling staff on client utilization of concepts, work on treatment plan goals, skill development, etc.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) in good standing.
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a substance use disorder treatment setting, including working with patients with co-occurring disorders.
Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor office environment, requiring the ability to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
