Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will perform patient care responsibilities, considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients' ages. This includes:
- Providing morning care, which may include bed baths, showers, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over-bed tables, and straightening rooms.
- Providing evening care, which includes washing patients' hands and faces as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, freshening linens, cleaning over-bed tables, straightening rooms, and other general care as needed.
- Preparing patients for meals, serving and removing food trays, and assisting with meals or feeding patients if necessary.
- Answering patient call lights, anticipating patients' needs, and making rounds to assigned patients.
- Assisting patients with handling personal property, including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic devices, etc.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completion of a course for nursing assistants.
- Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
- CPR/BCLS Certification.
- Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term facility, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
