Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

Job Description

In this role, you will play a vital part in developing, organizing, and conducting programs to educate individuals about conditions and problems related to drug and alcohol abuse. Your expertise will help us provide high-quality mental health care and support to those who need it most.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in substance abuse counseling and education. As an Addiction Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing relevant substance abuse information for class curriculum
  • Facilitating didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions
  • Selecting and recommending new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program
  • Maintaining knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse
  • Maintaining a collegial relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations
  • Completing required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents as required
  • Participating in related training for substance abuse

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the social sciences and two (2) years of professional experience in chemical additions counseling; OR
  • An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience in chemical addition counseling; OR
  • A High School diploma/GED and six (6) years of professional experience in chemical addictions counseling
  • Certification (CADC, formerly CSAC), LCAS or LCAS A preferred. Can be registered for CADC however must be able to obtain full certification within one year of start date
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments
