Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Store Team Leader In Training to support the effective planning and implementation of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, creative merchandising, presentation, selling, staffing, and superior customer support. This role involves assisting the Store Team Leader in creating a customer-first store culture through exceptional store standards and team engagement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Sales and Customer Service: Provides superior customer service to exceed customer expectations by greeting and assisting customers, operating cash registers, and itemizing purchases. Models product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience.
  • Inventory Management: Assists in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls. Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices and Store Team Leader direction.
  • Financial Integrity: Assists in ensuring financial integrity of the store through strict cash accountability, key control, adherence to company security practices, and cash control procedures.
  • Leadership and Development: Assists in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices, as well as providing training and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Work Experience and/or Education: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. One year of experience in a specialty retail environment or one year of experience in a retail environment for external candidates.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and operate cash registers and other tools. Strong product inventory knowledge, creative merchandising abilities, and effective oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking and standing. Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling. Occasional climbing using ladders and occasional driving/providing own transportation.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $42,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
