Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality images in various diagnostic imaging modalities, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining accurate records.

About the Role
  • Assist with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing exams according to department procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain quality diagnostic studies.
  • Independently perform job functions, including setting up equipment, positioning patients, and operating radiographic equipment.
  • Ensure all studies have proper patient identification, right and left markers, and accurate documentation.
ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
  • Orient patients to the examination process, addressing questions and concerns prior to the initiation of procedures.
  • Evaluate situations requiring physician intervention, responding promptly to ensure patient safety.
  • Verify two unique patient identifiers and clinical orders before performing procedures, adhering to policy.
Equipment and Operations
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with infection control policies and schedules, reporting issues to supervisors or service providers.
  • Clean, disinfect, and check equipment for proper calibration and operation deficiencies.
  • Restock linens and supplies, ensuring Diagnostic Imaging Services remains clean and organized.
Education and Communication
  • Clearly explain exam purposes and nature to patients, using AIDET to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation.
  • Address patient questions, concerns, or contraindications prior to initiating procedures, notifying physicians when necessary.
  • Participate in employee orientation and training, providing guidance as needed.
Quality Control and Patient Safety
  • Produce high-quality images, ensuring correct collimation, shielding, technique selection, penetration, and positioning.
  • Send studies to PACS, printing CDs as necessary, and accurately documenting exams in RIS.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Radiography certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor certification required upon hire.
  • Entry-level position; willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, along with benefits that promote work-life balance and professional growth.
