Job Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of homeless veterans. As a Social Worker for the Homeless Veterans Program, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive social work services to veterans who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess the needs of veterans and develop individualized treatment plans to help them achieve stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of veterans' needs, including their mental and physical health, social support systems, and housing status.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each veteran, including counseling, case management, and linkage to community resources.
* Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to veterans in crisis, including emergency housing and food assistance.
* Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure that veterans receive comprehensive care, including medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.
* Provide education and support to veterans and their families on topics such as housing, employment, and benefits navigation.

Requirements

* Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
* Licensure or certification in a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
* One year of post-MSW experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the field of health care or other social work-related settings.
* Ability to work with veterans from diverse backgrounds and with a range of mental and physical health needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterans, families, and healthcare providers.
