Job Summary:

This position is responsible for obtaining laboratory specimens and processing related information in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples and other specimens from patients, adhering to established laboratory procedures.
• Process laboratory test requests in the order of priority, responding to STAT and Time Request tests as promptly as possible.
• Interact effectively with physicians, patients, and other support services, responding to customer concerns and providing positive orientation.
• Participate in inventory management and optimal resource utilization.
• Assist with training of new employees.

Requirements:

• General knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care and orientation.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and driven.

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.
• Successful completion of a Phlebotomy Program from an approved institution.
• Work experience in a hospital/clinical setting is preferred.
• PBT (ASCP) or Equivalent within two years of hire.
