SOAR Benefits Specialist

The SOAR Benefits Specialist plays a vital role in assisting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or co-occurring substance use disorders in obtaining Social Security disability benefits. This position requires a strong understanding of SSI/SSDI eligibility requirements and the application process.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits
- Establish trust and build rapport with clients to support their application process
- Provide outreach services to identify and engage individuals in need of assistance
- Collaborate with medical providers to obtain necessary documentation and evidence to support claims
- Track the status of applications and assist with appeals if denied
- High School Diploma with a minimum of two years of experience in social services, case management, or a related field
- SOAR certification required or the ability to obtain
- Strong work ethic, reliable, punctual
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages (preferred)
