Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Documentation Specialist to join our patient care team. This role requires excellent communication and documentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare charts according to clinic protocol
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits
  • Document patient history, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans in real-time
  • Remind providers of relevant quality metrics and document accordingly
  • Enter laboratory and radiographic studies, medication orders, and patient instructions as needed
  • Review completed charts with healthcare providers between patients or at the end of each shift
  • Update provider preference and clinic documents as necessary

Requirements:

  • Typing speed of at least 60+ WPM
  • Availability to work 30-40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-5:30 pm PST)
  • A HIPAA-compliant workspace to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Fluent English language skills with excellent writing and speaking abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Pre-health career track preferred
  • GPA > 3.5
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $15-$25 per hour based on location, experience, and time commitment
  • Paid training for up to 30.5 hours
