We are seeking an experienced Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our team at MRG Exams, where you will conduct comprehensive eye exams for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's SHA process.
Job SummaryThis is a rewarding non-treating, non-determination role focused solely on assessments, allowing you to utilize your expertise while maintaining a flexible work schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Review medical records through a secure web portal to ensure accurate and timely assessments.
- Perform thorough eye exams, including Visual Field Testing (VFT), to gather essential information for evaluations.
- Complete and submit evaluation forms via the web portal within 24 hours of the exam, demonstrating your attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Support Those Who Served: Make a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans by assisting with their healthcare assessments.
- Flexible Work Schedule: Enjoy a part-time commitment with set hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Professional Focus: Your expertise focuses solely on assessments, eliminating treatment or determination responsibilities.
- Independent Contractor: Enjoy autonomy in a 1099 role, providing flexibility and independence in your work arrangements.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be a licensed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
- Be proficient in Visual Field Testing (VFT).
- Meet the VA's requirements for credentialed professionals.
- Demonstrate passion for serving Veterans.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to analyze medical records and exam findings accurately.

- Show attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
$85,000 - $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location considerations.
