Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant Specialist to join our team at one of our assisted living facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of all linens, towels, and personal items of the residents.
Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold all linens, towels, and personal items according to established procedures.
- Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage, and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a clean and safe laundry area.
- Maintain inventory of clean linens and restock resident rooms as needed.
- Assist residents with their personal laundry requests, ensuring individual preferences and instructions are followed.
- Handle and store laundry chemicals safely and according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of laundry tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in laundry services is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of proper handling and washing techniques for different types of fabrics.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment effectively and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and report any issues with laundry items.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift, and carry laundry items for extended periods.
