Pharmacist Coordinator

The Pharmacy Team is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a critical part in overseeing medication approval, dispensing, and counseling of patients undergoing cancer treatment services. As a key member of our Oncology Pharmacy team, you will supervise the pharmacy staff and technicians, perform drug compounding, and serve as a liaison between pharmacy staff, technicians, and hospital staff as needed for caring for patients receiving cancer treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rounds with the healthcare team and provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Review medication profiles for appropriate drug selection, dose, route, and frequency.
- Identify and resolve actual drug-related problems and develop plans to prevent potential drug-related problems.
- Supervise all distributive aspects of pharmaceutical care provided to patients.
- Improve systems and processes to ensure safe, accurate, and timely provision of all aspects of pharmaceutical care.
- Guide pharmacists through educational programs to increase knowledge of appropriate pharmacotherapy use and patient monitoring.
- Manage the human resources of the program to ensure talent needs are met, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluation, and developmental opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or completion of a residency in a hospital pharmacy from a program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Experience:
Required:
- Three years of pharmacy technician work experience or three years prior authorization and/or copay assistance programs work experience or three years combined pharmacy technician/prior authorization and copay assistance work experience.
Licenses/Certifications/Registry:
Required:
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) must be successfully completed within 1 year of hire.
- Current license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of hire.
