Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Mt. Hood Community College. As a key member of our Food Service Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of quality nutrition services for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff and parents on nutrition issues, including Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and Civil Rights.
  • Partner with the Food Services Manager to support and facilitate the delivery of quality nutrition services, including menu development and referral completion.
  • Develop and maintain adequate record keeping systems for tracking data and ensuring nutrition information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and maintain CACFP information in the state's database.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, including working with the CDFS fiscal department to process CACFP claims.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field.
  • Two years of progressive experience working in the field of child and family nutrition.
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and demonstrated commitment to promoting access and diversity.
  • Current driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable automobile for transportation to off-campus sites.
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Head Start or Early Head Start.
  • Bilingual skills: oral and written fluency in English with fluency also in Spanish, Russian, or another language that meets community/department's needs.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular and predictable attendance, with occasional evening and weekend hours. Travel to off-campus locations and in-state travel may be required.
