Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Continental Electronics Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and providing support for updating a variety of products supporting a team of installers around the world.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, with experience working on complex mechanical and electronic equipment such as plumbing and sheet metal. They will also be skilled in creating detailed piece part drawings and Bills of Materials, and will be able to perform complex CAD design and documentation operations.

In this role, you will work closely with a dedicated engineering team using 2D and 3D CAD software to create new product designs as well as update existing products. You will also be required to travel up to 50% of the time to support installation teams.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a strong understanding of design factors such as correct functioning, strength-weight efficiency, availability of materials and equipment, ease of fabrication, and interchangeability. You will also be required to maintain current knowledge of practical fabrication techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design complex mechanical and electronic equipment such as plumbing and sheet metal with minimal supervision.
  • Update redline drawings including schematics and wire lists while in the field.
  • Create detailed piece part drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Perform complex CAD design and documentation operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of practical fabrication techniques.

Requirements:

  • Strong computer-aided design (CAD) skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of CAD (3D & 2D drafting) experience.
  • Inventor 2015 and Autocad 2015 required; SolidWorks experience may be considered.
  • Must be able to pass CAD 2D & 3D test.
  • Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.
