Automotive Condition Evaluator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently engage in efforts to enhance and streamline the customer journey.
  • Collaborate with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to perform thorough evaluations of vehicles at various locations, identifying any damages, missing components, and mechanical issues.
  • Compile and present detailed reports on vehicle conditions, including repair or replacement cost assessments and necessary documentation.
  • Assist the sales team in promoting additional services and products.
  • Maintain regular communication with dealerships to foster client satisfaction and establish strong partnerships.
  • Travel to various locations to conduct inspections and generate condition reports, as well as list vehicles for auction.
  • Capture comprehensive photographs of vehicles, documenting overall conditions and damages, and upload them to the designated image server using a company-issued smartphone.
  • Utilize the ACV Auctions platform to list inspected wholesale vehicles for bidding and purchase.
  • Recruit independent dealerships to engage with ACV Auctions' digital platform.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the automotive industry, with knowledge in bodywork, painting, and mechanical repairs, complemented by a background in customer service.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a resourceful and innovative approach to challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to understand and meet customer expectations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • No history of DUI/DWI and no restrictions on operating commercial vehicles.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications and web-based tools.
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Vision capabilities necessary to accurately identify minor defects around and beneath vehicles.

Compensation: $21.50 per hour. This position is eligible for additional compensation in accordance with ACV's incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be determined based on the applicant's relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and other legally permissible factors.
