About the Role

Campus Compact for New Hampshire is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact in New Hampshire communities. We collaborate with k-12 schools, community partners, and businesses to support students in reaching their full potential.

We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Secondary Education Specialist to join our team. This integral role will follow a cohort of students from the 6th or 7th grade through their senior year of high school, promoting college access and career guidance resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incorporate college readiness components into assigned school(s) by assisting with classroom instruction and embedding college planning materials within core content.
  • Provide direct services to a cohort of students, monitoring individual data to ensure timely interventions and conducting small group academic sessions in classroom settings.
  • Empower students to become independent learners while developing social, emotional, and noncognitive skills, utilizing time management and organizational skills.
  • Assist with calendar creation and sharing with staff, organizing college access lessons and activities both inside and outside school hours, including sponsoring school clubs, conducting college tours, and arranging job shadowing and mentoring opportunities.
  • Develop and execute caregiver engagement strategies, engaging caregivers to promote practical and financial understanding of higher education planning and costs.
  • Meet with students and caregivers individually and collectively to develop post-secondary success plans.
  • Provide ongoing support with the NH State Scholars program and staff at GEAR UP.
  • Create opportunities for middle/high school and college/university partnerships.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Understanding of and belief in the mission and vision of GEAR UP.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with students, caregivers, school, and district staff, and build community partnerships.
  • Commitment to working with young people and to the value of postsecondary education.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
Estimated Salary Range$55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and knowledge of college readiness programs for at-risk student populations. Experience with classroom or group management and familiarity with best practices for promoting college-bound culture are essential.

We offer a competitive salary, paid holiday and vacation time, health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, and a generous 401(k) plan. This is a hybrid position requiring occasional work in our Concord or Berlin, NH offices.
