Job Description

Azure Summit Technology is a leading provider of innovative RF hardware, firmware, and software products, as well as multi-function RF systems solutions that address emerging missions of national importance for customers across the Department of Defense.

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong knowledge of technical writing and broad knowledge of project management to be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering technical documentation such as O&M manuals, user guides, and instructional materials for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, organizing, and delivering technical information for non-technical and technical users in structured or unstructured environments.
  • Converting technical drawings into easy-to-understand procedures.
  • Communicating complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately, and being comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy.
  • Identifying and filling documentation gaps by conducting independent research, interviews, and hands-on equipment exploration.
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality documentation standards that are measurable across the technical writing team, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ensuring best practices and style guides are followed while maintaining a consistent tone, structure, and format across all technical documentation.
  • Managing tasks and information flow using collaboration software.
  • Engaging with development teams to ensure timely updates and revisions to the documentation based on equipment changes and enhancements.
  • Staying current with industry standards and trends in technical documentation and recommending improvements and new approaches for enhancing the documentation process.

Basic Requirements:

  • US citizenship due to the nature of the work and contract requirement.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance due to contract requirement.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication or 10 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in technical writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Atlassian Suite.
  • Experience creating companion information such as illustrations using photography or illustration software.
  • Experience in training curriculum development.
  • Understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
