We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic and collegiate team at Charles Schwab. As a key member of our Advisor Services Technology team, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with AST team members to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front end and back end code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Lead development of maintenance and enhancement work items, including performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability, and automation.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of full stack application development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited degree-granting college or university is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing applications, particularly web-enabled applications using front end technologies such as Angular and/or AngularJS, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, ASP.NET web forms, MVC, JSON/XML, Sync/ASync services.
  • Back end technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, SOAP and RESTful API design.
  • Database technologies such as relational (SQL/Oracle) and document-based (No-SQL/MongoDB) architectures.
  • Passion for enterprise-level agile development.
  • Solid understanding in web application environments and development tools, event-driven application development, session state management, web configuration and deployment strategies, security and performance tuning, and debugging methodologies.
  • Comfortable with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts, unit testing principles and implementations, API test automation techniques as well as automated deployment pipeline tools.
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite is strongly preferred: JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo.
