Vascular Surgery Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Surgery Nurse Specialist to join our team at Albany Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and experienced nurse to provide high-quality care to patients with vascular diseases.
About the RoleThe Vascular Surgery Nurse Specialist will work closely with our vascular surgery team to implement treatment plans, administer medications, and perform various procedures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, evaluating diagnostic tests, and making informed decisions about patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
- Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
- Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
