Translational Medicine Disease Area Head

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Translational and Precision Medicine Disease Area Head to lead our Immuno-Oncology portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our Immuno-Oncology business and shaping the strategic direction of our Translational and Precision Medicine efforts.
About the RoleThis is a rare opportunity to help build and expand Teva's presence in Immuno-Oncology, contributing to the future of cancer treatment through innovative research and leadership. As the leader of our Translational and Precision Medicine team, you will oversee translational science, clinical biomarker development, and precision medicine studies. You will collaborate closely with discovery, preclinical, and clinical development teams to identify and advance new drug candidates efficiently through early and late-stage clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities- Lead drug development programs, enhancing success and de-risking development from first-in-human trials through post-approval
- Develop and execute strategy, aligning with Teva's priorities and leading the TPM Immuno-Oncology team
- Manage a team of experts in Translational Science, Clinical Biomarkers, and Precision Medicine, ensuring regular reviews and strategic planning
- Lead initiatives in biomarker development, associating molecular, histologic, and digital biomarkers with drug response and safety
- Oversee clinical studies, managing the design, execution, and interpretation of early-phase clinical studies, ensuring compliance with ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards
- Innovate endpoints and stratification, overseeing the identification of novel clinical endpoints and patient stratification strategies to accelerate safety and efficacy demonstrations
- Collaborate with preclinical and clinical teams to expedite new drug candidates into late-stage development
- Lead regulatory submissions and interact with regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth approval processes
- Drive scientific insights, overseeing the generation and application of clinical and scientific insights to optimize drug targeting, patient selection, and combination therapies
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited medical school, with specialized training in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related fields
- 7-10 years in early clinical research and drug development, with strong expertise in translational and precision medicine, biomarker sciences, and oncology
- 2+ years of managerial experience, with a proven track record in project and team management in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries
- In-depth knowledge of clinical development (including study design and management), and experience adhering to ICH, GCP, and GLP guidelines
- Experience with regulatory interactions and submissions
- Board eligibility or certification in oncology is preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse teams and disciplines
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently, with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Thrives in a fast-paced, multitasking environment, capable of making effective progress on complex projects while knowing when to seek input from colleagues and senior management
