Cytology Specimen Preparation Specialist

Position Overview:

The Cytology Specimen Preparation Specialist is tasked with the meticulous preparation of both gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. This includes the processes of accessioning, staining, and mounting slides for cytological analysis.

In addition to specimen preparation, this role encompasses clerical duties within the cytology department, such as managing incoming communications and distributing reports.


Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field is preferred.

  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness in all tasks performed.
  • Handle complex assignments with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of procedures and quality assurance protocols, including necessary documentation.

Work Environment:
  • Physical demands may include occasional kneeling, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and reaching.
  • Consistent use of hands for various tasks and the ability to engage in conversations regularly.
  • Visual acuity for both near and far vision is essential.
