Job Overview

Position: Victim Support and Care Liaison

Reporting Structure: This role will report directly to the National Program Director.

Position Summary: The Victim Support and Care Liaison is tasked with outreach initiatives and overseeing all local incoming referrals in accordance with agency guidelines for trauma-informed and survivor-focused services. This individual will be instrumental in fostering connections within regional correctional facilities and the surrounding community. They should possess significant experience working with victims of crime and abuse, and have a solid understanding of trauma-informed methodologies in service delivery. The role involves mentoring clients as they navigate challenges and employing trauma-responsive communication techniques. Collaboration with the Survivor Care Coordinator is essential to facilitate the transition of community clients to their designated residential program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Survivor Care Coordinator with incoming calls and local care coordination for community clients.
  • Guide incoming residents through the intake process at the residential program.
  • Organize and lead outreach initiatives in correctional facilities and the community.
  • Provide local resources and referrals to clients engaged in outreach.
  • Actively cultivate and engage with strategic partners, including law enforcement, judicial entities, service provider organizations, local anti-human trafficking coalitions, and national referral networks.
  • Ensure comprehensive client data is recorded in case management software to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Participate in community, regional, and statewide meetings or events to disseminate information about and represent the organization.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the organization's operations, services, and key metrics to effectively communicate its mission and impact.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure all services are trauma-informed, trauma-responsive, focused on post-traumatic growth, empowerment-driven, and strengths-based.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in leading educational and recovery-oriented groups.
  • Utilize best practices in trauma-responsive programming.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a professional demeanor, with the ability to present to large audiences.
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse professional, cultural, and personal backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Highly adaptable, trainable, and knowledgeable about trauma, addiction, and human trafficking.
  • Basic understanding of both formal and informal community resources.
  • Must successfully pass background checks, maintain a valid driving record, and demonstrate computer proficiency.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
