Clinical Coordinator for Medical Surgical/PCU Unit

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coordinator to support our Nurse Manager with unit organization and best practices. This role involves acting as a resource for the nursing team, coordinating nursing assignments, and managing admissions/discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a clinical RN, occasionally managing a small patient load (1-3 patients).
  • Perform charge nurse duties, overseeing LPN, RN, and LNA practices, and delegating care appropriately.
  • Coordinate nursing assignments, adjust based on acuity, and manage admissions/discharges.
  • Provide support to LPNs/RNs/LNAs, assist with patient care, and ensure timely follow-ups on referrals and diagnostics.
  • Monitor charting for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as the main resource on off-shifts, coordinating bed availability and facilitating transfers.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, management, and external facilities to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in inpatient care settings.
  • Strong clinical background and ability to serve as a resource for nursing staff.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
