Special Education Teacher Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy in Plymouth, NH for the 2024-25 school year.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with other educators, parents, and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Individualized IEPs: Create tailored IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the best possible education.
- Adapt Teaching Methods and Materials: Modify teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
- Assess Student Skills and Needs: Regularly assess students' skills and determine their educational needs to inform instruction.
- Establish Clear Objectives: Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, communicating them effectively to students.
- Monitor Progress and Adjust Instruction: Continuously monitor students' progress and collaborate with other educators to adjust instructional methods and materials as needed.
- Foster a Positive Classroom Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Communicate with Parents: Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- A valid state Special Education Teaching License.
- Experience working with students with various disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to develop and implement effective individualized instructional plans.
- Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about working with children with special needs.
