Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Monitor to join our team at Community of Hope. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, while also providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain program procedures, adhering to all policies and expectations outlined in the Resident Monitor handbook.
  • Maintain security of the building at all times, ensuring the safety of residents and staff.
  • Manage front desk activities, including signing-in residents, greeting visitors and volunteers, and problem-solving with shelter residents.
  • Document and communicate rule violations and concerns about residents as appropriate to the situation.
  • Respond to residents' requests, rendering assistance as possible, and resolve conflicts and crisis situations.
  • Maintain standardized operating procedures, safety of residents, program integrity, and a supportive and caring environment.
  • Communicate with staff and residents in a non-judgmental manner, working cooperatively with all agency staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively preferred.
  • Punctuality and reliability required.
  • Ability to utilize computer software, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Mail.
  • Ability to handle emotional situations with compassion and maturity.
  • Ability to remain calm and able during emergencies.
  • Ability to act responsibly, professionally, and use good judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to write shift and incident reports in detail.
  • Experience working in a residential environment preferred.
  • Experience working with the homeless population preferred.
  • Ability to de-ice the front walkway by salting and shoveling the front area when inclement weather occurs.
