Court Security Specialist

The Louisiana Supreme Court seeks candidates with a minimum of three years law enforcement experience for a Court Security Officer position. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work flexible days, shifts, and holidays. The position requires a strong background in law enforcement, with a current Peace Officers Standards Training (P.O.S.T.) certificate from an accredited Louisiana police academy. The successful candidate will possess excellent investigative and report writing skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Making rounds for inspection and security of the facility, grounds, and parking areas as needed
  • Screening building entrants via electronic screening stations
  • Using security card access systems and video surveillance systems
  • Performing personal protective details on occasion
  • Writing up incident reports as needed

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word documents and Outlook email. A professional demeanor is a must, and the candidate must be able to pass a background check and skills testing. A valid Louisiana driver's license is also required. The position may require occasional travel. The Louisiana Supreme Court offers excellent state benefits, including OGB health, life insurance, dental, and Louisiana Clerk's Retirement System, as well as paid parking.
