Pediatric Healthcare Professional

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Healthcare Professional to join our team as a Medical Assistant at the Penobscot Community Health Center. As a key member of our integrated care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Job Overview:This part-time position involves working 30 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7:00am to 5:30pm (Tuesday, Friday + Weekends OFF). You will be responsible for conducting patient chart reviews, administering prescribed medications and vaccines, and assisting in maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Demonstrate compassion, collaboration, communication, and appropriate clinical judgement in patient care.
- Support to Providers: Provide direct support to providers in delivering care and treatment to patients.
- Chart Reviews and Clinical Desktop Work: Conduct patient chart reviews for pre-visit planning, medication refills, and other clinical requests. Support clinical desktop work.
- Care Team Management: Strategize within care team to effectively manage patient's care.
You will also be responsible for preparing and rooms patients for examination, treatment, and procedures; maintaining exam rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment; and engaging and supporting patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.
Requirements:- A High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Evidence of Medical Assistant training including all the essential job functions, knowledge, skills, and abilities listed here in this job description, or MA Certification required.
- Up-to-date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within 3 months if not current at hire.
