Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ground Up Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team at K2 Staffing, LLC. Our client is a highly sought-after, stable, and prestigious General Contractor in hyper growth mode, and they are in need of a skilled professional to oversee automobile dealership development projects in Colorado Springs, CO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure project milestone dates and overall schedule completion date are met.
  • Create short-interval look-ahead project schedules to communicate, track, and proactively address upcoming events.
  • Develop and maintain a project site safety plan, promoting a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate work to ensure it is constructed in an orderly and deliberate manner, consistent with best-practices standards.
  • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, including the use of third-party survey and layout personnel when necessary.
  • Verify that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner.
  • Obtain all inspections and document the quality aspects of physical work.
  • Ensure all project aspects are compliant with contract terms and legal requirements.
  • Administer client-specific programs, such as Landlord/Site Rules and Regulations, Safety, Site Specific Security, etc.
  • Conduct and/or attend pre-construction, progress, and other project and staff meetings.
  • Manage self-performed activities to ensure work is performed within the established project budget.
  • Manage changes in project scope to prevent avoidable rework.
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements.
  • Manage the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence.
  • Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as the client's internal IS department, vendors, security, etc.
  • Complete project schedules for proposals, review estimates, assist in creating proposals, participate in interviews, etc.
  • Engage in marketing and obtaining projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the company's goals.
Requirements
  • Previous experience handling tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Ground Up and Auto Dealership experience.
  • Experience in automobile dealership builds is a major plus.
  • AS degree in Construction Management or similar, or a Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, and demonstrated experience of progressive responsibility supervising construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and site work related thereto.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling, Microsoft Office, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30 1, 1st Aid, and CPR.
